OnePush MCP use cases

Example prompts and workflows your AI assistant can run once OnePush MCP is connected — from contacts and automations to domain DNS and social posts.

Try these prompts

After you connect OnePush MCP with an approved mcp_ key, ask your assistant things like the examples below. Prefer read/insights first; use action prompts when you are ready to change data. Social publish always needs an explicit confirm.

Contacts & events

Your assistant keeps the contact list and event stream accurate without leaving the chat.

Analytics & insights

  • “How many contacts are in this project?”
  • “List the 20 most recent contacts and their tags”
  • “Which events fired in this project, and what are they named?”
  • “Show contacts tagged “trial” if that tag exists”

Actions & creation

  • ActionCreate a contact for user@example.com subscribed true with first_name Alex
  • ActionTrack event “signup” for user@example.com with plan pro as persistent data
  • ActionUpdate contact user@example.com and set subscribed false
  • ActionCreate a tag named “vip”

Automations, templates & campaigns

Inspect the email building blocks behind your product messaging.

Analytics & insights

  • “List all automation actions and what they are named”
  • “Show me the email templates in this project”
  • “Which campaigns exist and what is their status?”
  • “Summarize how many templates and campaigns I have”

Actions & creation

  • ActionList actions and tell me which ones look like onboarding flows
  • ActionFind templates that look related to password reset or welcome emails
  • ActionList campaigns and flag any that look unfinished

Domain & deliverability

Get sending domains verified so transactional email can leave the building.

Analytics & insights

  • “Is my sending domain verified?”
  • “Show me the DNS records I need for SPF, DKIM, and MX”
  • “What domain and from address is this project using?”
  • “After I updated DNS, re-check verification”

Actions & creation

  • ActionAttach sending domain mail.mycompany.com and return the DNS records
  • ActionGet domain DNS records for the current project
  • ActionCheck domain verification and tell me what is still missing

Forms & submissions

Pull form performance and lead lists without opening the dashboard.

Analytics & insights

  • “List all forms in this project”
  • “How many submissions did form X get this month?”
  • “Show unique emails that submitted the waitlist form”
  • “Which form has the most submissions?”

Actions & creation

  • ActionGet form metrics for all forms
  • ActionList submissions for form <id> as unique emails
  • ActionExport a short summary of the latest submissions

Social publishing

Draft and schedule posts; confirm before anything goes live.

Analytics & insights

  • “Which social profiles are connected?”
  • “List draft and scheduled social posts”
  • “Do I still need to connect LinkedIn or Instagram?”

Actions & creation

  • ActionGive me the connect URL for LinkedIn so I can finish OAuth in the browser
  • ActionCreate a draft social post announcing our new docs, for connected profiles
  • ActionSchedule that draft for tomorrow at 15:00 UTC
  • ActionPublish post <id> now — only with confirm true after I approve

Billing (read-only)

Check plan status and open the portal — card charges stay in Stripe.

  • “Do I have an active paid plan on this project?”

Actions & creation

Common workflows

Multi-step sequences you can run with your assistant end to end.

New team → MCP connected

  1. Ask the agent for start_onepush_connect (or open ctl.onepush.app/mcp/connect)
  2. Sign up, create a project, Approve — copy the mcp_ key
  3. Paste the key into Cursor / Claude MCP config
  4. Ask: “Show my project summary and contact count”

Domain ready for production email

  1. Attach the sending domain via MCP
  2. Publish the returned SPF / DKIM / MX records at your DNS host
  3. Ask the agent to check_domain_verification
  4. Confirm get_project shows verified before high-volume sends

Product launch announcement

  1. List connected social profiles; connect any missing network in the browser
  2. Create a draft post with the launch copy
  3. Schedule for the launch window (UTC)
  4. Publish only after you explicitly confirm

Troubleshoot access

  1. If tools fail with unauthorized, regenerate the mcp_ key in Settings → MCP
  2. Confirm Authorization uses Bearer mcp_… (not pk_ or ek_)
  3. Call mcp_help anonymously to re-check the connect URL
  4. sk_ still works as a legacy MCP auth option if you already use it

Troubleshooting

  • Unauthorized on tools — regenerate the key in Settings → MCP and update the Bearer header.
  • Wrong key type — MCP accepts mcp_ (preferred) or sk_. Public pk_ and enterprise ek_ are rejected.
  • Domain not sending — ask for DNS records, publish them, then re-check verification before production volume.
